Jobs to be done methodology is a set of practices that help you to understand the main goals your customers are looking to achieve. It's a great way to look at your product from a different angle and get a full understanding of the customer journey.

With our Jobs to be done template you can define the main jobs your customers are looking to do, the main pains they have and the main gains they are looking to achieve.

Jobs to be done template structure

When you create a Jobs to be done template from scratch, you get three spaces: Jobs, Job Stories, and Personas.

Jobs

Each Job is a high-level task that your customer wants to complete (e.g. "I want to buy a new car"). In this database, you can list all the jobs you believe your customers are hiring your product to do. Each Job can have one or more Job Stories, and each Job can be assigned to one or more Persona.

Job Stories

Each Job Story is a detailed description of how and why the customer is doing a particular job. The Job Story has the following structure: "When [situation], I want to [motivation] so that [outcome]". You can create Job Stories for each Job and each Persona. Each Job Story can have one or more Gains and Pains.

Personas

Each Persona represents a particular category of people that are using your product. For each Persona, you need to describe their main goals, frustrations, and demographic data. You can also add a photo of the Persona.

Customization

Naturally, you can fine-tune everything in this template. Fibery is a tool that lets you build your own system based on your team's preference, and the jobs to be done template is no different.
